Practice Philosophy
From the outset our practice philosophy has been to deliver quality dental care in a private general practice setting, to treat patients from all walks of life with sensitivity and a high level of expertise, and to remember that the practice of dentistry is a unique privilege and, as such, the welfare of the patient always comes first.
Our restorative philosophy is a conservative one. First and foremost, we believe in the benefits of preventive dentistry. Thus, we strongly encourage our patients’ participation in a conscientious home care and recall program. When restorative dentistry is indicated, we prefer to maintain teeth and preserve tooth structure as we consider our treatment plan designs. We have often found implant restorations beneficial in replacing missing teeth because, unlike fixed bridge work, implant supported restorations often allow us to leave neighboring teeth “as is.” For extensively decayed teeth, we frequently recommend a combination of root canal therapy and restorative dentistry to "save the tooth" rather than extract it.
Patient Education
Fundamental to the maintenance of a healthy dentition is an understanding of oral disease processes. We take the extra time to explain how oral bacteria, diet, alignment of teeth, and home care technique affect the restoration and maintenance of your oral health. We will be happy to show you the way to more effectively practice your own personalized home care regimen, and will present it in a clear, “no guilt” manner that’s fun to do. It’s part of our mission because few things influence your quality of life more than the ability to comfortably enjoy your food, speak with clarity, and smile with confidence.
Scope of Care
The scope of our practice includes the following:
- Non-surgical periodontics: routine cleaning and root planing
- Operative dentistry, including tooth colored and silver fillings
- Root canal therapy
- Prosthetic dentistry including fixed bridges, removable full and partial dentures, and implant supported restorations.
- Cosmetic dentistry including veneers, all-porcelain crowns and bleaching
- Therapy for night time grinding/clenching of teeth
Specialty Referral
Our patients’ specialty needs are further served by a host of the area’s finest specialists. Referred specialty services include orthodontics, oral and periodontal surgery, endodontic treatment of complex teeth, and surgical placement of dental implants.
Regardless of the complexity of your case, our team approach offers you care delivered by the most comprehensively trained and highly regarded clinicians in the field. For those patients in preferred provider networks, referrals are made to participating specialists whenever possible.
